Blog Post 5: A Photo and Its Story

This picture show a very special day for me. I am in the sanctuary of Santa Teresa de los Andes, located in the Rinconada commune one weekend in October 2004, it was during a family outing organized and assisted by my parents; my two little twin sisters (Valeria and Monserrat), my aunt "Titi" on the left; my grandmother in the middle; my mom on the right in black; and finally me, located in the middle of the image with a pint of dora the explorer.

This capture means a lot to me, there are the 5 most important women of my life -from left to right: “Titi” was a very important figure throughout my childhood, she gave me a lot of love and understanding, without a doubt, she was a very beautiful, hard-working and loving person, who fulfilled the role of aunt and mother with me. I was delighted to appreciate her radiant presence in the photograph and it made me feel as though she was with me again. She died of colon cancer in 2016, I still cannot assimilate that she is no longer in our lives, I miss her very much. My grandmother is located in the middle, a woman that I admire and love a lot, she always went ahead teaching me that one has to be strong and persevering, we also has shown that family love is unconditional and forever. She has been no longer in our lives for a year... i miss her so much to (Q.E.P.D)

This photo makes me travel back in time when I had everything I was happy without knowing it...

  1. Hi Cata! I know what it feels like to lose someone that you love. But I know families can be together forever, that always gives me the hope that I need to keep forward no matter what. I´m sure that your aunt and your grandma are always with you <3
